Motorists furious over long delays on busy Mayo N5 roadway

Motorists are furious over the long delays they have been facing today due to road resurfacing works on the N5 between Knockatemple and Bohola.

A number of motorists have reported being delayed for over an hour.

A statement issued by Mayo County Council stated: “The contractor is examining alternative measures to alleviate the congestion.

“East bound motorists are asked to use the N58 and then on to the R321 as an alternative route.”

The project, along a 5km stretch, is expected to take up to four weeks to complete.
