Passengers can now book online for new Mayo late train service

A Mayo TD has welcomed news that Irish Rail have confirmed its online timetable has been updated with the introduction of the fantastic new 7.35 p.m. train from Dublin to Westport.

Deputy Alan Dillon said he has received confirmation from Irish Rail that commuters on the new train service can book tickets for the journey on the website, https://www.irishrail.ie, with the revised timetable starting on December 10 next.

Deputy Dillon, who is a member of the Oireachtas Committee on Transport, stated: “The late evening train service will make stops at various stations, including Ballyhaunis at 10.01 p.m., Claremorris at 10.16 p.m., Castlebar at 10.36 p.m., Westport at 10.53 p.m., Foxford at 10.47 p.m., and Ballina at 11.00 p.m.

"I am delighted that the service will be operational prior to Christmas and will be of great benefit to those hoping to make the most of day-trips to the capital city.”
