Passing of Regina Mulrooney is deeply regretted in Mayo

The death of Regina Mulrooney, Partry, has evoked a huge sense of sorrow and loss in the community.

She died unexpectedly on Thursday at Mayo University Hospital.

A popular member of the staff of Michael Cosgrove & Partners Accountants, Breaffy Road, Castlebar, for many years, she was held in high regard by everybody who knew her.

Many tributes are being paid to her on the condolences page of the death notices website, RIP.ie.

One said: "Gina was a beautiful lady with a beautiful spirit."

"She was full of life and fun," another stated.

"One of the best. She will be remembered," another said.

She is sadly missed by her heartbroken brothers and sisters Gearóid, Eugene, Cathy and John, sisters-in-law Margaret, Eithne and Marie, brother-in-law Ciaran, special cousin Michael, extended family, and wide circle of wonderful friends.

Regina was doting “Super Aunt” to Ódhrán, Éanna, Caolan (RIP), Muiréad, Seosaimhín, Dara, Aoife, Eoghan, Ciara, Cáit, grand aunt to Fionn and godmother to Sarah, to whom deepest sympathy is also extended.

She was predeceased by her beloved parents Joe, a former elected member of Mayo County Council, and Kathleen.

Reposing at Partry Community Centre today (Sunday) from 4 to 6 pm.

Requiem Mass takes place on Monday at 11 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, Partry, followed by farewell in Shannon Crematorium at 3 p.m.
