Mayo GAA unites for All-Star charity showdown

Mayo GAA has rallied behind the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association, gearing up for a charity match that promises not only an exciting clash on the field but also significant contributions to a worthy cause.

This week, Mayo GAA senior football manager Kevin McStay, alongside Mayo GAA Cathaoirleach Seamus Tuohy, Mayo GAA secretary Ronan Kirrane, and standout players Diarmuid O’Connor and Aaron Timlin, gathered at the Centre of Excellence in Bekan to extend their support to the Mayo branch of the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association.

The highlight of this charitable initiative is the upcoming showdown between the Mayo senior football team and the 2023 Club All-Star panel. Scheduled for December 30 at the Claremorris GAA Grounds at 1:30 pm, the match promises an intense battle, with Mayo GAA PRO John Walker confirming that a formidable team will be fielded by Kevin McStay.

Walker expressed optimism for a vibrant turnout, urging the community to support this noble cause. The Mayo GAA 'Team of the Week,' featuring 16 different club players more than once during the season, showcases the depth of talent in the region.

The 2023 Mayo GAA Club All-Star Panel, a panel of players who excelled in various championships, will take the field donning commemorative Mayo GAA jerseys with the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association logo. The match will be streamed live on www.mayogaatv.com, ensuring widespread participation.

Lillian McGovern, CEO of the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association, conveyed gratitude to Mayo GAA for their support, highlighting the critical role of donations and fundraising for their organisation.

Mayo GAA Cathaoirleach Seamus Tuohy spoke passionately about the partnership, expressing the organisation's commitment to raising awareness and supporting those affected by Motor Neurone Disease.
