Popular Mayo public house appoints a new manager

Rocky’s Bar, Tucker Street, Castlebar, has announced the appointment of a new manager, Louise Lavelle.

Louise, originally from Breaffy and with a degree in service design and innovation, managed The Halfway House in Tramore, Co. Waterford, for 11 years.

She is delighted to have got the opportunity to return home and take over the running of the well-established pub, Rocky’s.

Louise said: “I am so excited to take on this new venture. I always wanted to return home to Castlebar as I believe it’s one of the finest towns in Ireland.

"I’m looking forward to the challenge of Rocky’s, with live music four nights a week, keeping Castlebar entertained, and, over the coming months, we will be hosting themed nights and fun weekends, quiz nights, student events, and more. Watch our social media for details.

“We also have great facilities for parties and special occasions. Suas, upstairs at Rocky’s, holds approximately 100 people and it has its own cocktail bar and a ‘green room’, making it an ideal venue for that special event.

"We can organise finger food and decorations to add to the atmosphere of a celebration night.

"Being big sports fanatics here, we have six large-screen TVs, so every sporting occasion will be available to watch for all sporting fans.”

Louise thanked everyone who sent good wishes on her new role and looks forward to serving the people of Castlebar.
