Extension approval for east Mayo school

KNOCK National School has been granted an extension under the Additional Accommodation Scheme from the Department of Education.

The approval is for a Special Educational Needs (SEN) base at the school, Deputy Michael Ring has confirmed.

Said Deputy Ring: “I am very pleased to confirm that Knock National School has been approved a SEN base for their school. This is very welcome news for the students. This approval will provide a wonderful opportunity for learning and will be of huge benefit to the teachers and students who will be using it.

“The Additional Accommodation Scheme is an important programme which improves the quality of school buildings and helps the children of this country to thrive and develop.”

Minister of State Dara Calleary also welcomed the news confirmed by Minister Norma Foley. He congratulated the school management and wider community and wished them well with the works.
