Talented Mayo singer-songwriter set to light up Castlebar venue

Talented Mayo singer-songwriter Brian Duffy will be on stage with the Mayo Concert Orchestra at the Linenhall Arts Centre, Castlebar, on Friday night next, February 16, at 8 p.m.

This show, sold out last summer in his native Westport, now comes to the county town and once again promises to be a very special event. It has been a lively 18 months for singer/songwriter Brian.

September 2022 saw the launch of his third album 'The Walk' in the Yard Bar at Westport's famous Matt Molloys.

The songs embrace many aspects of the human condition; none more so than 'Baby Don't You Cry' a beautiful song written about his young daughter.

However the collaboration with the Mayo Concert Orchestra has brought his work to a wider audience.

An accomplished musician in his own right with a particular focus on folk and traditional, the influence of conductor Kathy Fahey and the Orchestra has enhanced and developed his work.

He's a natural performer and an engaging raconteur so come and enjoy the evening.

In July 2023, Brian featured on and co-wrote 'The Narrowback,' a vibrant examination of Irish immigration with Wicklow based musician/producer Glen Brady.

Launched to great critical acclaim, this is a hip-hop take with a traditional Irish spin of 'You Win Again' a track from Brian's second album 'Something In A Melody'.

A consummate professional, constantly giving of himself and forever pushing the boundaries, this is a career going places. Enjoy the show.

A limited number of tickets are still available for what promises to be a very memorable occasion.
