Plans by Mayo to honour history-making rugby supremo Caelan Doris
Mayo County Council has extended hearty congratulations to Lacken native Caelan Doris for his outstanding achievement, captaining the Irish rugby team in the Guinness Six Nations Championship against Italy.
Doris, the first ever Mayo captain of the Irish rugby squad, received unanimous praise from elected members and officials at the February meeting of the authority.
There are proposals for a civic reception to honour his accomplishments in the sport.
Talks are ongoing with his agent to ensure it happens within the coming months.
