‘A Royal Hooley’ taking place in Mayo county town soon

A NIGHT filled with 'craic agus ceol' is planned for Castlebar on Saturday night, April 27.

The toe-tapping, hand clapping lively seisiún with four popular Irish folk bands and social media sensation Garron Noone takes place at the TF Royal, Castlebar.

Former Wolfe Tones member Derek Warfield, along with The Young Wolfe Tones, is bringing the musical tradition of Irish ballad singing forward with a reverence for Ireland’s past and the energy and optimism of a new generation of Irish musicians.

Joining them on stage are Ruaile Buaile, an Irish five-piece trad band from the midlands. Playing upbeat old Irish favourites, ground thumping trad, and unique twists on recent day classics, they are not to be missed.

The event also showcases The Druids. With a passion for storytelling through their songs, The Druids are sure to captivate you with their powerful lyrics and harmonies.

Hailing from Co. Kildare, they are an integral part of the Irish Folk scene on the road for over a decade.

The Porter Bellys are also joining the line-up, combining champion Irish folk and Folk Rock. These live shows will satisfy all lovers of Irish song music and history.

The special guest for this special event is Garron Noone, musician, comedian, spokesmodel, TikToker and food critic.

The Ballina man has a unique ability to connect with audiences with his infectious personality, music and hilarious cultural commentary.

He was named one of Ireland’s “breakthrough stars” for 2023 on TikTok with 596,000 followers and was also featured on BBC programme, Big Comic Energy, for his stand-up.

Patrons can start their night with good old Irish hospitality at The Green Room Bar and Restaurant. This is the perfect setting for before the night kicks off for pints, steaks, pizzas, homecooked roasts or shared food platters.
