Speculation rife Mayo senator is added to Fianna Fáil 'Euro' ticket
Speculation is rife that Mayo Fianna Fáil Senator Lisa Chambers has been added to her party's ticket for the European Parliament elections on June 7 in the Midlands North West constituency.
The news, albeit unofficial, has been confirmed by local party sources.
However, a formal announcement is expected to be made later today by party HQ.
The Castlebar-based representative and former TD will join Deputy Barry Cowen in seeking to win back Fianna Fáil seats in the constituency.
Deputy Cowen was selected at last month's selection convention ahead of Senator Niall Blaney and Senator Chambers.
There is a possibility a further candidate may also be added now that the constituency is a five-seater.
