Mayo Young Sports Stars: LGFA winner had brilliant club season with Claremorris

In 2023, a youthful Claremorris team won county and provincial junior titles, and just missed out on an All-Ireland in an incredible year.

The team put in some remarkable performances in its successful run through Mayo and Connaught on to the All-Ireland final, in which they were narrowly beaten by O'Donovan Rossa of Cork.

A driving force in the team throughout the year was Alana Fitzpatrick, who was subsequently rewarded for her superb club efforts with a call-up to the Mayo senior squad this year.

Alana delivered a string of impressive performances in what was a great year of success for Claremorris, and with the young profile of the team, one would feel there is plenty more success to come.
