Johnny Cash appreciation evening at Mayo Folk Music School

SEASON 3 of the Appreciation Society continues its unique music performances held at the Irish Folk Music School in Glenisland, Castlebar.

Each month the school's music teachers present their favourite songs of their favourite recording artists in their own style with a variety of traditional instruments.

Saturday, March 9, features one of the genuine heavyweights of the music industry, the legend that is Johnny Cash.

The music teachers will perform some of his most famous and popular songs as well as personal favourites and lesser known gems.

With half a century in the business the mighty Johnny Cash is truly one of the biggest names in music. A genuine legend with over 80 studio albums recorded and countless compilations, duets and appearances there is a vast amount of material to be covered.

Tickets to this special event - held in a 150-year-old classroom - are very limited so get yours now and don't miss out.

There is no alcohol at this event but freshly brewed coffee, tea and goodies will be provided

Doors open at 7.30 and the show starts at 8 p.m.
