Heritage funding for 11 Mayo projects

FUNDING for 11 Mayo projects under the Built Heritage Investment Scheme has been confirmed by Minister of State Dara Calleary.

The projects include the following:

St. Muredach’s Cathedral, Ballina (€15,000 - windows, doors and associated elements).

Convent of Mercy, Ballina (€15,000 - rainwater disposal and roof).

Doolough Lodge, Geesala (€15,000 - roof).

Bridge House, Westport (€15,000 - external walls).

Belleek Castle, Ballina (€25,000 - conservation to roof and windows).

Thatched Cottage, Midgefield, Westport (€20,000).

Holy Trinity Church, Westport (€50,000 - roof repairs).

Convent of Mercy of the Immaculate Conception (€50,000 - roof repairs, cast iron rainwater gear repair, historic glass replacement).

Harrison’s Bar, Ballina (€4,600 - window, doors).

McMorrow’s, Crossmolina (€8, 250 - windows, doors).

Ivy and Bow, Ballina (€9,300 - windows, doors).

The Built Heritage Investment Scheme provides funding across a number of streams allowing buildings of important historic value to be repaired and restored.

Said Minister Calleary: “I am delighted that this funding of over €225,000 is coming to Mayo and wish all well with the works.”
