Former Mayo secondary school placed on property market

The former St. Mary's Secondary School, McDermott Street, Ballina, has been placed on the property market.

The sale by private treaty is being conducted by Gerard O'Toole Auctioneers, Westport.

Located to the north of Ballina town centre, the property is a mixed use commercial and residential location.

The school was built in 1939 and closed in May 2022 following the completion of a new school

Extending to 2.400 sq.m. over two floors, the property sits on an extensive site of 2.913 hectares (7.2 Acres).

Constructed of fair-faced concrete block with PVC double glazed windows and doors under a series of pitched tiled roofs, internally it is arranged as a series of classrooms, labs, and offices centred along two corridors.

Externally, the property is accessed via secure gates into a large car parking under a tarmac surface.

There are additional extensive lands which are undeveloped.

The sale is understood to be attracting a great deal of interest.
