“Agricultural shows are a very important part of our rural calendars. The shows are enjoyed by all and bring huge economic benefits to an area. The shows play a vital role in community life and raise awareness of the important role agriculture plays in our society.

“They are a wonderful opportunity for producers to showcase their products and have become a key date in the calendar for the farming community.”

The Department of Rural and Community Development will work with the Irish Shows Association (ISA) to administer the scheme for 2024.

Added Deputy Ring: “These shows would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of volunteers, committees, sponsors, local organisations and local businesses. I would encourage people to come out and support their local shows where possible.”
