Death of Mayo chef as family suffer second bereavement in 10 days

The death has occurred of John Kelly, An Sean Bhaile, Ballybrit, Galway, and formerly of 'St. Martin', New Cemetery Road, Newport Road, Castlebar.

He died peacefully yesterday at the Galway Hospice following a long illness.

He was predeceased by his beloved father John, who died on March 15.

John will be sadly missed by his sorrowing mother Mary (neé Jordan, formerly of McHale Road, Castlebar), brothers Stephen, David and Fergus, sister-in-law Chika, nieces and nephew Maolisa, Maebh and Ross, uncles, aunts, cousins, relatives, friends and all the family circle.

Deepest sympathy is extended to the bereaved family on their great loss.

John qualified as a chef at the Galway RTC (Atlantic Technological University) and he worked across the hospitality industry.

John will repose in Kilcoyne’s Funeral Home, Thomas Street, Castlebar, on Wednesday from 6.30 to 8 p.m.

Requiem Mass takes place in Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar on Thursday at 11 a.m.

Afterwards John will be laid to rest with his father in the New Cemetery, Castlebar.
