Mayo's Mary-Kate Tyrrell signs for Galway United

MAYO native Mary-Kate Tyrrell has signed for Galway United senior women's team.

The midfielder joins Phil Trill’s side for the 2024 season following an impressive trial period and also playing against United for the TG4 TV series Underdogs.

Mary-Kate played with Castlebar Town most recently, where the central midfielder stood out in the Mayo Women’s League. Earning a place in the league Team of the Year in 2022, she continued her form into the 2023 season, and was picked for the Underdogs series, where they took on League of Ireland side Galway United.

In an announcement on the Galway United website, Mary-Kate said: “I can’t wait to get started here. It’s a fantastic squad and a great club so really looking forward to getting going.”
