Passing in Dublin of much-loved Mayo woman Geraldine Cusack, aged 105

The death has occurred in Dublin of Gerardine Cusack (née Hopkins), Dun Laoghaire, Dublin, and formerly of Westport.

A member of a popular and respected family which had strong sporting links in the west Mayo town over many years, she was aged 105.

Born in Rosbeg, she lived in England and Dublin most of her life.

She is pre-deceased by her husband John and seven of her siblings.

Geraldine is survived by her sons David and Michael, daughter Linda, grandchildren Sean and Brendan, sister Eithne Collins, nieces and nephews, to whom sympathy is tendered.

A statement by the bereaved family stated: "Gerardine (Gerry) will be forever in our hearts.

"Thanks to the caring staff of the Ashford Nursing Home in Dun Laoghaire for looking after her in her final years."

Her funeral arriving St. Mary's Church, Westport on Tuesday, at 10.30 a.m. for Funeral Mass at 11 am.

Burial takes place afterwards in Aughavale Cemetery.
