Major Easter clean-up of section of Mayo's N5 route

As part of An Taisce’s National Spring Clean campaign, Castlebar Tidy Towns organised the annual clean-up of the N5 approach road to the town.

A distance over five kilometres was cleaned by the Castlebar Tidy Towns, members of the International Protection Group and volunteers.

The clean-up lasted a period of just two hours with in excess of 80 Bags of litter collected.

The Castlebar Tidy Towns thank all those that participated in the clean-up and also acknowledge those that sponsored or supported the event on the day.

All participants were treated to light refreshments afterwards and presented with the traditional gift of an Easter Egg at the end.

Special thanks to Mayo County Council for providing the extra litter pickers and the pick-up of the litter and to An Taisce Spring Clean Campaign for providing the hi-vis vests, gloves and litter bags as part of their contribution to the campaign.
