Former Mayo GAA star poised for Ministerial position

A Mayo TD is in line for a ministry in Simon Harris’ upcoming cabinet reshuffle next week according to reports.

Alan Dillon, currently the chair of Fine Gael’s parliamentary party has been a long-term ally of the newly crowned leader of Fine Gael and could see his stock rise with a junior ministerial position, in what would be a major boost to the county.

Simon Coveney’s shock announcement to depart cabinet this morning has paved the way for the former Mayo GAA star to ascend to a ministerial position as Peter Burke is also expected to take a senior ministerial position in government.
