Mayo residents brace for impact as Storm Kathleen set to hit

Coastal flooding, high winds and heavy rain are due, according to the latest forecast.

SATURDAY, APRIL 6

Storm Kathleen will bring very strong and gusty southerly winds to all areas tomorrow, with severe and damaging gusts during the day, especially across Galway and Mayo.

Coastal flooding and wave overtopping are likely.

Frequent showers will move north east across Connaught through the morning and afternoon and will become isolated during the evening.

Highest temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees.

Saturday night will see clear spells and scattered heavy showers.

Very windy and unsettled with strong and gusty southerly winds, especially strong along western counties.

Lowest temperatures of 6 to 8 degrees.
