New discount foodstore planned for east Mayo

DISCOUNT supermarket retailer ALDI is looking to establish a new store in east Mayo.

It is proposed to base the new store in Swinford.

A planning application has been submitted to Mayo County Council for the development.

The application notice is seeking planning permission to develop an outlet at a site at Castlebar Road and Kiltimagh Road, Newpark, Swinford.

The development will consist of single storey discount foodstore (to include off-licence use) comprising a gross floor area of 1908sq.m (nett retail area 1356sq.m).

There will be one vehicular entrance from the Castlebar Road and also a vehicular and pedestrian access from the Kiltimagh Road.

The plans include 112 car parking spaces, including seven disabled accessible bays and nine family bays, along with four electric vehicle bays and 18 cycle spaces.
