Mayo team selected for crucial Under 20 clash with Sligo

Mayo manager Peadar Gardiner has made three changes to the starting team for the Eirgrid Connacht GAA Under 20 Championship round five clash with Sligo in Hastings Insurance MacHale Park tomorrow (Wednesday) evening.

John MacMonagle (Castlebar Mitchels), Jack Melvin (Davitts) and Finbarr McLaughlin (Westport) all start in place of Eoin McGreal, Brendan Collins and Liam Moore for this crucial clash with the Yeats County.

Sean Morahan of Castlebar Mitchels will captain the team on the day, while James Molloy from Galway will be the man in the middle for this game, which throws in at 6.30 p.m.

Also taking place tomorrow is Leitrim v Roscommon, and there's a lot riding on the final round games.

With Galway having completed their four games, they sit on top of the table with five points. However, coming close on their heels are Mayo, Roscommon and Leitrim on three points, with defending champions Sligo on two points.

The top team after the round robin stage will go straight into the decider, with those in second and third playing off for a final spot.

As things stand, Mayo need at least a draw against Sligo to make the knockout stages. However, a defeat to Sligo would knock them out and leave the Yeats County in a good position to advance.

Michael D. McAndrew and Declan O'Reilly will provide live commentary on the Mayo v Sligo game on Midwest Radio, while Mayo GAA will have live updates on all social media channels and the game will be live streamed by Connacht GAA. Tickets can be purchased here.

The Mayo team in full is as follows: David Dolan; Rio Mortimer, John MacMonagle, David Slattery; Diarmuid Duffy, Sean Morahan, Tom O'Flaherty; Jack Melvin, Conal Dawson; Finbarr McLaughlin, Cathal Keaveney, Oisin Cronin; Darragh Beirne, Niall Hurley, Darragh Reilly.

On the subs' bench are: Dylan O'Brien, Diarmuid Coggins, Brendan Collins, Paul Gilmore, Ciaran Kilcoyne, Tom Lydon, Liam Moloney, Liam Moore, Jack Mulchrone.

Members of the extended panel are: Yousif Coghill, Fiachra Cruise, Owen Doherty, Jack Ferguson, Eoin McGreal, Conor Mulroy, Lorcan Silke, Adrian Sloyan.
