€143,399 in integration funding for Mayo project

FUNDING of €143,399 has been allocated to the Westport Family & Community Resource Centre from the National Integration Fund 2023.

The funding, for the Westport Community Inclusion Project, has been welcomed by local Deputy Michael Ring.

The National Integration Fund celebrates the rich cultural diversity in Ireland and enables non-profit organisations to play a greater role in supporting the integration of migrants. Successful organisations stand to receive grant funding of up to €200,000, paid over a maximum of three years, to support national and regional integration initiatives.

“It is clear that the community in Westport is rising in a positive way to the challenges that have arisen for new arrivals and communities, particularly over the last two years. The funding will help support the Westport Family & Community Resource Centre to help people build new lives in Ireland and support our local community to make the integration process as successful as possible,” said Deputy Ring.

“When integration is done successfully, it benefits everybody by building vibrant and diverse communities and I welcome the funding announced today which will help to further support that work.”
