All roads lead to south Mayo for Ploughing Championships this weekend

ALL roads lead to south Mayo this weekend when the Mayo County Ploughing Championships take place on Sunday, April 21, on The Cloghans Hill Farms, Cloghans Hill (H54 VF53).

This is the 42nd year of the ploughing, which is always a big day out in the farming community's calendar in the county, and beyond.

The official opening will be performed by IFA president Francie Gorman at 3 p.m.

All ploughing classes will be covered on the day and visitors will also get to enjoy a range of trade stands, sheep dog trials and dog show, plus there will be great musical entertainment too.

Gates will open at 8 a.m. with the ploughing getting underway at 12 noon.
