Mayo manager urges supporters to rally ahead of Connacht Final

Mayo GAA boss Kevin McStay has issued a passionate call to arms for the county's supporters ahead of the Connacht Senior Football Championship final showdown with arch-rivals Galway.

In a social media post following Mayo's hard-fought victory over Roscommon, McStay highlighted the importance of fan support, urging them to pack Pearse Stadium in what promises to be a fiercely contested encounter.

Despite securing a commendable win over Roscommon, McStay expressed his disappointment with the subdued atmosphere at Dr Hyde Park, where the usually vocal Mayo faithful seemed to lack their customary fervour.

With the Connacht final on the horizon, McStay believes now is the time for the supporters to make their presence felt. He stressed the significance of winning the provincial title and the crucial role fans play in bolstering the morale of the players, particularly the younger members of the squad.

Speaking to Mayo GAA, McStay acknowledged the cautious approach taken by "Mayo Inc.", encompassing players, management, and supporters alike, but emphasised the need for a spirited display of support in the upcoming final against Galway.
