Repairs to water burst in north Mayo underway this morning

UISCE Éireann crews are in Belmullet this morning repairing a burst water main on Church Road.

Every effort is being made to maintain a water supply to as many customers as possible in the area. However, customers on Church Road and surrounding areas are likely to experience a disruption to their water supply.

Local traffic diversions are in place to ensure the safe delivery of the works.

Repairs are expected to be complete later today. Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage.

Uisce Éireann’s Colette Scahill assured customers that every effort is being made to restore water as quickly as possible.

“We understand the inconvenience of an unplanned outage and we thank customers for their support while the repair works are ongoing,” she said.
