Water investment improves supply for customers in Mayo county town

AS summer approaches, the residents of Castlebar’s Fortfield and Harmony Heights can have more confidence in their water supply.

Uisce Éireann recently replaced almost 500 metres of old water mains which were susceptible to regular bursts and caused supply disruptions.

The works, which are part of the national leakage reduction programme, not only guarantee customers a more reliable water supply but put a stop to the loss of precious treated water into the ground.

Uisce Éireann’s Enda Mac Namara is grateful to the community for their patience while Farrans Construction carried out the works.

“This essential work is part of a significant investment by Uisce Éireann to improve the water network across the country, prioritising investment where it is needed most, enabling these communities to thrive. We would like to thank customers in Castlebar for their cooperation and patience while the works took place.”
