Work starts on west Mayo town's street safety scheme

WORKS to improve safety on George's Street in Newport have started.

Councillor Brendan Mulroy today welcomed the commencement of the project, which includes a pedestrian crossing.

He extended thanks to the George's Street Support Group who have campaigned to the project over the line, adding: “I was delighted to play my part in ensuring this project was delivered for Newport.”
