Sport meets art in novel centenary celebration for Mayo football club

THE celebrations of the centenary of Castlebar Celtic Football Club (1924 - 2024) continue with a novel meeting of sports and arts!

Artist Betty Gannon will be hosting a life drawing workshop featuring players from Castlebar Celtic.

Life drawing is the drawing of the human form in various poses, and levels of detail. The models at this event will be footballers Jason Hunt (midfield) and Stefan Hester (goalkeeper).

Just as an athlete must practice and train to maintain a level of excellence, drawing the figure from life on a regular basis keeps an artist in good form. The Linenhall Arts Centre is inviting artists to enjoy the creative challenge of sketching the sporting stars of Castlebar Celtic.

The event is open to all levels of abilities and all are welcome.

The workshop takes place on Saturday, May 18, from 11 a.m. 1 p.m. in the Linenhall Arts Centre.
