Work starts on extension to popular Mayo public house
Works have got underway in extending one of Mayo's most popular public houses, Bridge St., in Castlebar town centre.
The proprietors acquired a vacant adjoining property a number of years ago and planning permission was subsequently granted to demolish it and replace with a two-storey extension to the adjoining Bridge St. premises.
The extension will allow for an additional seating area on the ground and first floor areas of the busy establishment.
An archaeologist is on site to monitor all ground disturbance during the early phases of the project.
The extension is expected to be completed later this year.
