THE Dublin-based Intercept Technologies, who have been named Cyber Security Firm of the Year by Chambers Ireland, are to brief government ministers, TDs and senators this week on cyber security threats facing Ireland.

Furthermore, the company, headed by Castlebar native Joe McCann, has held negotiations with the British Ambassador to Ireland, Mr. Paul Johnson, with a view to further scaling their cyber security services in the UK.

Intercept Technologies is a managed cyber security and managed IT services consultancy, providing cyber security, cloud services, network security, risk management and IT support. They stand at the forefront of the rapidly evolving cyber security landscape, delivering comprehensive solutions from dual bases in Dublin and London.

Mr. McCann explained: “As digital threats continue to proliferate and regulations around data security and privacy tighten, organisations are increasingly recognising the necessity of robust cyber security measures.

“Intercept were welcomed to the UK Ambassador's residence last week with a view to scaling our cyber security services into the UK further as a leader in cyber security for critical national infrastructure and defence.

“We spoke with the Ambassador, Paul Johnston, in his residence in Dublin, on how Ireland needs to increase our defences against the increased nation stated sponsored warfare from APT groups (Russia, China, Iran, to name a few, etc.).

“Our firm is continuing to highlight the threats which face our society which is evident by our continuous growth increasing our headcount across Ireland, Northern Ireland, England and having recently been requested by the Welsh government to continue to discuss and create conversation on the cyber threat landscape and all critical national infrastructure.”

He continued: “This week, Intercept are inviting several government ministers, TDs, deputies and senators to our Dublin offices to highlight this very risk and how it's high time for the government to take immediate action, before it is too late.”

Mr. McCann explained: “As digital threats continue to proliferate and regulations around data security and privacy tighten, organisations are increasingly recognising the necessity of robust cyber security measures.

“Our approach is not just about defending against attacks. It’s about creating a resilient environment where threats are identified, assessed and neutralises proactively.”
