Unveiling of bust to Mayo legend Dr. Mickey Loftus

THE legendary late Dr. Mickey Loftus is to be honoured in his hometown of Crossmolina next weekend.

A bust to the former GAA president will be unveiled on Saturday morning, May 25, with a special memorabilia exhibition also opening in Crossmolina Civic Centre.

GAA president Jarlath Burns will be on hand to unveil the bust at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

Dr. Loftus, who died in April 2023, was a member of the Mayo senior football panel which won the All-Ireland final in 1951, and he was involved in the game at every level over the years.

The new bust and exhibition will celebrate his great legacy.

The memorabilia exhibition will be on display until June 21.
