Mayo versus Dublin selected for live coverage on opening senior championship weekend

The fixtures for the 2024 TG4 LGFA All-Ireland Senior, Intermediate and Junior Championships have been confirmed, with Mayo selected for live television coverage on the opening weekend of the senior competition.

The championships will commence on Sunday, June 2, with eight fixtures across the intermediate and junior grades, and conclude at Croke Park on Sunday, August 4, with a triple-header of finals.

The Ladies Gaelic Football Association and championship sponsors TG4 are also pleased to announce that, in total, 15 live TV fixtures have been agreed upon. Additionally, in a historic development, all senior championship games not shown live on linear TV will be live-streamed via the Spórt TG4 YouTube channel.

There will be two live games on TG4 from each round of the senior championship during the group phase, along with all four senior championship quarterfinals, both senior championship semi-finals, and the junior, intermediate and senior finals.

The live TV action commences on Sunday, June 9, with a double-header of fixtures featuring Donegal, Kerry, Dublin and Mayo.

The first live TV game on the day is the meeting of Donegal and visitors Kerry, TG4 All-Ireland senior finalists in 2022 and 2023, from Ballybofey, starting at 1.05 p.m., followed by the clash between Mayo and Dublin, the TG4 Leinster and All-Ireland senior champions, in Parnell Park, which will throw in at 2.50 p.m.

On Saturday, June 15, the clash between Cork and Galway (1 p.m.) will be shown live on TV, along with either Kerry v Waterford (3 p.m.) or Tipperary v Armagh (5.30 p.m.), depending on scheduling.

In round three, on Sunday, June 23, the live TV picks are Waterford v Donegal (1.30 p.m.) and Meath v Tipperary (3.30 p.m).

The reward for the group winners in the senior and intermediate championships is a home quarterfinal, with the last-eight ties to be confirmed by a draw. The senior championship quarterfinal draw will be shown live on TG4 following the Meath v Tipperary game on June 23.

The intermediate championship quarterfinals are scheduled for Sunday, June 30, with the senior quarterfinals fixed for the weekend of July 6/7.

The intermediate championship semi-finals will take place on Sunday, July 14, with the senior championship semi-finals set to be played as a double-header at Glenisk O’Connor Park in Tullamore, Co. Offaly, on Saturday, July 20 (5.15 p.m. and 7.30 p.m).

Following the conclusion of the group phase, four teams (two from each group) will advance to contest the junior championship semi-finals, which are fixed for Sunday, July 14.

Mayo are in Group 4 of the senior championship along with Dublin and Kildare.
