Survived by his loving wife Maureen, sons James, Noel and Adrian, daughters in law Linda, Ann Marie and Angela, grandchildren Kate, Anna, Paddy, Caelin and Meabh, sisters Mary and Kathleen, sister in law, brother in law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing in Burke’s Funeral Home, Clonbur on Thursday, May 23 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral Cortege arriving at The Church of The Immaculate Conception, Finny on Friday at 12 p.m.

CONOR FREDERICK LANE, ACHILL ISLAND

Conor Frederick Lane, Clapham, south London, Galway and Achill Island.

Adored husband of Helena and beloved son of Sheila, on May 1st, peacefully and surrounded by family in the tender care of University College Hospital London’s One Grafton Way after living with an illness, Ewing’s sarcoma, borne with strength and dignity over the course of eight years. He was 32.

Predeceased by his father, Robert Lane, and his stepdad, Brent Parker, Conor is an irreplaceable loss to his wife and mother, and will be deeply missed by Helena’s parents and three sisters, extended family and friends in the US, Macmillan colleagues in London, former NUIG and City University London classmates, and his wide circle of friends in the UK, Ireland and around the world.

He was a devoted husband, son, son-in-law and brother-in-law, an empathetic friend and colleague, and a talented journalist and broadcaster. A cancer activist whose health series in The Irish Times heightened awareness of Ewing’s sarcoma and a dedicated volunteer who ran the London Marathon in 2021 to raise funds for Shine UK, Conor was a rare person who inspired many in the cancer community. May perpetual light shine upon him.

Reposing at Poppy’s Funeral Home, south London. Conor’s funeral will be held at 1:15 p.m. on Friday, June 7, in St Paul’s Church, Rectory Grove, Clapham, south London, followed by a reception in Helena’s family home on Chelsham Road, Clapham.

A private cremation ceremony will be held at Lambeth Crematorium and Conor’s ashes will be buried in Galway at a later date.

PAT REILLY, BANGOR ERRIS

Pat Reilly, Cambridge and Norfolk, UK and formerly Mount Jubilee, Bangor Erris.

Predeceased by his parents John and Mary Annie, parents-in-law Arthur and Olive Pankhurst, sister-in-law Kathleen Reilly and brother-in-law lan.

Pat will be sadly missed by his loving wife Lyn his children Liam, Daniel and Erin, grandchildren Hattie and Isla, daughters-in-law Anne-Marie and Emily, son-in-law Matt, brothers Martin.

Seamus and Sean, sister Bridie King, sisters-in-law Mary and Rosaleen, brother-in-law Richard, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and many friends in UK and Ireland.

Remains Reposing at Daly's Funeral Home, Bangor Erris on Saturday evening from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.

Funeral will arrive to St Colmcille's Church, Geesala on Sunday for Mass at 1 p.m.

Burial will take place in Norfolk at a later date.

MARGARET PORTER, BALLINA

Margaret Porter (née Lavin), Cregg’s Road, The Quays, Ballina, and formerly of Porter’s Shop, O’Connell Street, Ballymote, Co. Sligo.

Predeceased by her husband Jimmy and son Michael.

Sadly missed by her daughter Marian Moran, son-in-law Mattie, daughter-in-law Maggie, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Perry’s Funeral Home, Ballymote, on Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. with removal to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Ballymote for 8 p.m.

Requiem Mass on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Burial afterwards in St. Columba’s Cemetery.
