Mayo hurler is runner-up in Connacht Poc Fada finals
Bobby Douglas of Tooreen and Mayo finished second in the Connacht Poc Fada finals and will now go forward to the All-Ireland finals.
The Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence hosted the provincial finals on Monday evening last (June 17), with representation from across the province competing for the title of the Connacht champion.
The overall winner was Noel Fallon of Four Roads, Roscommon, ahead of Mayo man Bobby.
In the Under 16 competition, Colm Fitzgerald of St. Dominic's, Roscommon, finished ahead of Danny Klampe, Loughrea, Galway.
The camogie winner was Susan Earner of Eyrecourt, Galway, with Katie Gilchrist of Shamrocks, Galway, the runner-up.
In the Under 16 camogie compeition, Leah Horan of Killimor, Galway, finished ahead of Mia White, St. Dominic's, Roscommon.
The All-Ireland Poc Fada finals will take place in the Cooley Mountains, Louth on Monday, August 1.
