Stephen Munnelly victorious on Mulranny captain’s day

MULRANNY Golf Course enjoyed a lovely summer’s day for Aodan Mac Suibhne’s captain's day. A testing breeze made it a proper test for a major day.

Captain Aodan congratulated the winner Stephen Munnelly on his fantastic performance and all the other prize winners, and thanked all who made the day such a memorable occasion.

He said that it was a privilege and honour to serve as captain of Mulranny Golf Club. He was delighted at the large turnout and thanked all who supported him for his captain’s day.

Aodan thanked greenkeeper Pat Garavan for having the course in excellent condition, and also complimented course manager John Eastman as well as Keane's Butchers for the good food and the ladies' committee for serving same. He acknowledged the support he has received from Tom in the office, committee, members and especially his wife Aine.

The prize winners were as follows: 1st Stephen Munnelly 68 nett; 2nd Colin Cooney 68; 3rd Seamus Granahan 68; gross Michael Joyce 75; past captain Brian MacDonald 70; 4th Tony McDonnell 66; 5th Fergus Rothwell 67; 6th Paddy Burke 68; nearest pin Barry Corrigan; longest drive Michael Joyce.

In the Plate competition (9 holes), the results were: 1st Bob Leggett 19 pts, 2nd Paddy McNea 18, 3rd John McNamara 18.

The ladies' results were as follows: 1st Aine Mhic Suibhne 21, 2nd Ann Hyland 21, 3rd Patsy Jordan 20.
