Extra parking needed at popular Mayo leisure centre

EXTRA car parking is needed at Lough Lannagh Leisure Centre in Castlebar.

Space is already under pressure, Councillor Blackie Gavin highlighted at a local area meeting, where he pointed out the range of events at the centre.

And with the new climbing wall due to open next year, attracting visitors from all around the country, additional parking provision is needed at the site.

Commenting on a motion he tabled, Councillor Gavin said a masterplan is needed for the area.

He was told a budget submission has been made to looking at parking.
