Man in his 20s hospitalised after Mayo town centre assault

A man in his 20s has been hospitalised after a serious assault in the early hours on this morning at Tucker Street in Castlebar.

Gardaí in the county town are investigating the circumstances of the attack, which occurred at 3 a.m.

The street has been closed off to traffic as investigations continue.
