Success for Mayo photographers at awards ceremony

Two Mayo photographers have enjoyed success at the prestigious AIB Press Photographer of the Year Awards

Michael McLaughlin, Westport, won first prize in Portraiture section while Conor McKeown, Westport, came out on top in the Nature and the Environment category

Michael's winning portrait, ‘Forging Friendships’, features master blacksmith Ben Burke from Foxford, alongside his partridge Pekin Bantam, ‘Penny.’

"A beautifully lit and composed portrait," the adjudicators stated.

Conor's image, entitled 'Feeling Blue,' was also lauded by the adjudication panel.
