Wet and windy for Mayo ahead of the weekend

Spells of showers expected across the county, according to the latest forecast.

Take a look below at what the weather has in store for the county.

FRIDAY, MARCH 28

Tomorrow, Friday, will be cool and breezy with sunshine and fairly widespread showers, some of them heavy and with the chance of hail and isolated thunderstorms.

The showers will ease and become more isolated later in the day.

Highest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees in moderate to fresh and gusty westerly winds, strong at times in coastal parts, but moderating later in the day.

While we'll have a little rain and drizzle and some breezy weather on Saturday, we'll see a return to settled weather from Sunday.

That settled weather is likely to continue for much of next week with high pressure dominating.

It'll be pleasantly mild from Sunday, with the possibility of even warmer weather by midweek.

FRIDAY NIGHT:

Clear spells and isolated showers at first, mainly in the north and west.

The showers will die away through the night and cloud will start to build from the southwest.

Lowest temperatures of 1 to 5 degrees with winds continuing to ease, becoming light to moderate south to southwesterly overnight.
