Two key Mayo GAA stars on verge of returning to action at perfect time

Paddy Durcan and Tommy Conroy are on the verge of returning to action for the Mayo senior football team.

Team coach Stephen Rochford has revealed he “would not necessarily rule them out” of playing some role against Sligo in the quarterfinal of the Connacht SFC next Sunday at Hastings Insurance MacHale Park, Castlebar.

“They are extremely close. But, with the compactness of the season, there’s nobody pushing them forward for the sake of a week, with the potential then that they get knocked out for three weeks.

"So, we’ve just had to be patient,” he explained.

Neither player featured in the Allianz National League campaign in which Mayo finished at the top of the Division One table, albeit losing to Kerry in the final last weekend.
