Death of popular Mayo milk agent Seamus Joyce is widely mourned

The death has occurred Seamus Joyce, Cornevagh, Ballyheane, Castlebar.

In his late 50s, he died at his residence earlier today surrounding by members of his loving family.

Seamus was widely known in Mayo business and community circles through his involvement with the milk retail trade as the agent for Avonmore in Castlebar and Westport for many years.

He was also operated the mymilkman.ie system where he delivered milk and other products to people's homes.

Fond tributes are being paid to him on social media

One stated: "Seamus was a true gentleman, so kind and had a beautiful smile."

Another said: "His gentleness and kindness, along with his bright smile, will never be forgotten.

Seamus will be sadly missed by his loving and devoted wife Claire, son John, daughter Heather, his mother Alacoque, sister Annette, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and his wide circle of friends, to whom deepest sympathy is tendered.

He was pre-deceased by his father John and his parents- in-law Tim and Kitty Fitzgerald.

Seamus will repose at his home in Cornevagh, Ballyheane (F23 DD21) tomorrow (Monday) from 4 to 7 p.m. (house private please at all other times).

Removal from his residence on Tuesday morning at 10.30 a.m. for Requiem Mass at 11.30 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, Ballyheane.

Seamus will be laid to rest afterwards in Ballyheane Cemetery.
