€500 reward to catch vandals who targeted Mayo sensory park
Anger has erupted in Balla after a feature of its recently opened sensory park was left vandalised in what has been described as a "senseless act" of destruction.
The peaceful community space, designed to offer a sanctuary for people of all ages and abilities, has been left reeling after damage was discovered at its popular willow hut, a natural structure lovingly maintained by volunteers.
The team behind the park expressed their deep disappointment, stating on social media that they “work tirelessly to create a peaceful environment for all visitors to enjoy, and it is disheartening to see our efforts undermined in this way.”
In a bid to track down those responsible, a €500 reward is now being offered for any information that leads to the identification of the culprits.
Local volunteers are urging anyone who may have seen suspicious activity on March 31, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to come forward with any information to tidytownsballa@gmail.com and 089 969 3547.
