Mayo duo earn GAA Team of the Week honours

Hession, a Garrymore club man, delivered a solid display from the back, nearly finding the net in a pivotal moment of the match.

His goal-bound effort was thwarted by Galway's goalkeeper, Connor Gleeson at a crucial moment in the game.

Knockmore's Darren McHale made an immediate impact by scoring an early goal, setting the tone for Mayo's performance before Galway got ahead in the encounter.

He added two points to his tally before being substituted in the latter stages of the game.
