Drop-down of kerbs has not progressed in Mayo county town

THE drop-down of kerbs for disabled access in Castlebar needs to be progressed.

Some work has taken place, particularly around the Breaffy Road, but there are a number of others that were ready, with tactile paving in place, but they're just left there.

Councillor Ger Deere highlighted one location near the TF, outside Homecare Medical.

There's tactile paving there for years but no dropped down kerb.

“These are simple things we need to get on top of,” he told management at a municipal meeting.
