Mayo Day in Manchester hailed a great success

THE Mayo diaspora turned out in force to support this year's free Mayo Day concert at the popular Farmers Arms music venue in Burnage, Manchester.

The concert on Saturday featured Joe Keegan and his band and was supported by Mayo County Council, the Levenshulme Pub Company and Mayo Manchester Tourism and Business Group.

The Farmers Arms was once the local of Oasis brothers Liam and Noel, who lived round the corner to the bar. They also share the owner's same Mayo roots.

Tony Hennigan from Mayo Manchester Tourism and Business Group commented: “It was great to see the Mayo diaspora turn out in force to turn Manchester Green and Red.

“We are delighted with the support of Mayo County Council who we have been working with on various tourism projects since 2012. Many thanks must also go to the Mayo owned Levenshulme Pub Company who have always come on board as our sponsor as these events.”
