Signpost call to direct HGVs away from street in Mayo county town centre
A SIGNPOST directing HGVs away from Castle Street in Castlebar is needed as a matter of urgency.
Vehicles are regularly getting stuck at the corner at Kelly's Barbers and Councillor Al McDonnell wants to see them diverted before reaching that point.
He has requested that signposting be erected at the traffic lights in Newtown directing HGVs not to continue on to Market Square and then Castle Street.
“A sign is needed before the top of Main Street because at that stage it's too late, they can't go left or right,” he told a municipal meeting.
