Man loses life in west Mayo harbour tragedy

The emergency services have been called to the scene of a tragic incident at Newport Harbour.

A vehicle entered the water at the location short after 5 p.m. today.

Divers later removed the body of a man from the sea.

The body is being transferred to Mayo University Hospital for a post mortem and the coroner has been notified.

The incident has a cast a dark cloud over the community.
