Monday to begin brightly as temperature set to soar in Mayo this week

After brief spells on Sunday, the next few days may be the warmest of the year so far, according to the latest forecast.

MONDAY, MAY 12

Tomorrow will bring a mix of cloud and sunny spells.

There will be a good deal of dry weather but some showers may develop in parts.

Highest temperatures of 13 to 17 degrees in a moderate to fresh northerly breeze.

Mixed conditions at first with showers or longer spells of rain, before settled conditions return later in the week and for next weekend.

Monday night will bring variable cloud and some showers to parts of the country, possibly heavy or thundery.

Temperatures will not fall below 8 to 11 degrees.

Light to moderate northerly winds veering easterly.
